Everybody Should Be Listening To Clairo

check out the post below

It’s been awhile since I’ve stumbled upon a new artist to listen to. Then again, It’s also been awhile since I’ve actually cared enough to search for a new artist. These days there isn’t much that’s new out there, but Clairo has come out of nowhere to dispel that. Now near the tail end of 2016, I discovered this artist called Kevin Abstract.

All throughout 2017, Kevin and the group that he is in Brockhampton have released three albums and have honestly blown up. The other day I noticed that Tyler, The Creator and Brockhampton were playing a show together and a girl named Clairo was on the bill to perform as well, so I did what any music enthusiast would do, I checked her out. And boy was I not disappointed.

After checking out her music, I went and searched about her. I then found out she’s a 19-year-old singer/songwriter artist from Boston and has been putting out music on YouTube and Soundcloud for a minute. She recently blew up this year with her record, “Pretty Girl.”

Now what really caught my attention and why I think she’s genineuly talented is her vocals and just the lo-fi nature of the sound she’s creating because she also produces her tracks too. I even like the fact that most of her songs are not that long in length, it’s really good that their just around 2 minute tracks.

Overall, I expect Clairo to have a really big 2018 and I’m hoping she drops a project soon. She’s definitely an artist that I’m going to keep my eyes on and hopefully she eventually makes her way to Toronto. If you’re into Beach House, Corbin (Spooky Black) and really amazing, lo-fi sounding music, Clairo is for you. If that’s not your cup of tea, just check her out anyways because everybody should be listening to Clairo.
