After bringing Kaytranada, Post Malone and Passion Pit to Toronto’s Port Lands last year, organizers behind North By Northeast have begun to gear up for the festival’s forthcoming 2018 edition.
For its 24th year, the festival will be held June 8 to 17, returning to the city’s Yonge-Dundas Square, with free outdoor programming offered from June 15 to 17. A press release notes that NXNE will “transform Yonge Street into a festival village throughout the weekend to host free concerts, NXNE talk sessions and comedy shows.”
The press release also notes that last year’s Club Land curator series will return in an expanded format with shows across the city. After taking over Yonge-Dundas Square the past two years, Game Land will also return from Jun 8 to 10 in “a unique Toronto venue.”
“We at North by Northeast have always loved presenting amazing new music at Canada’s most exciting intersection, free of charge, NXNE founder Michael Hollett said in a statement. “And NXNE’s fans and supporters have been clear they love shows on Yonge Street, even miss them. So we’re bringing the music back to the centre of the city, bigger and better.”
Stay tuned for more details about NXNE 2018 in the coming months.
