In preparation to drop his EP “Greener Lawns” in November 2017, Tai Lawanson has released the first single from the tape called, “Famous.” Now about the song Lawanson said, “The idea behind this track is that even though I know that having all the finer things in life makes life better, the human part of me, deep down still wants it.”

And when it comes to saying something like that, I’m sure everyone can relate to that and in this single, in this song, it’s incredibly relatable. The song touches upon themes of going after your dream and being self aware and everyone can relate.  Additionally, as I was listening to the track, what really caught my ear is how much and how similar Lawanson sound was in that of Childish Gambino’s debut album “Camp.”

It felt like the same vibe from that album, but obviously Lawanson has a different feel and style. And while listening to the track, I read that Lawanson draws influences from Drake, Kendrick and Childish Gambino, so I felt like my ear for the music was dead on.

Now what I really liked about the track was how much the flow really connected with the production of the track. It all seemed to blend together really nicely and as the first offering from his upcoming EP, the single is a great start.
