Drake took the stage at the 2016 VMAs to hand Rihanna the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. As Drake being Drake, he professed his love for the singer in a nearly 7 minute speech.

He told the audience at Madison Square Garden that Rihanna is “someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old.”
