Today PartyNextDoor’s interview with Rolling Stone was released. In the article he sheds light on topics that he’s never talked about before. He talks about writing the song “Work” and what he’s been going through.
In this piece, I broke it down by what we learned and how he said the things that we learned using quotes from the article. In one of the quotes, we learned something from what the writer of the article said, not Party, so I said “How It was said.”
With that being said, here’s “8 Things Learned From PartyNextDoor’s Rolling Stone Interview.”
#8
What We Learned : He wanted “Wednesday Night Interlude” on his album, not on Drake’s “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late.”
How He Said It : “I said, ‘Are you gonna cut it?’ ‘No.’ He just put it on there. I don’t think people do that. I love the fact that he put it on there and people heard it. And I still, to this day, wish I kept that song for my album.”
#7
What We Learned : 2016 has been a good and bad year for PartyNextDoor.
How He Said It : “This year wasn’t a party for me, as ironic as that is. The best and worst things happened at once.”
#6
What We Learned : The best part of the year was him writing Rihanna’s song, “Work.”
How It Was Said In The Article : “PND helped write “Work,” the Rihanna single that spent nine consecutive weeks at Number One on the Hot 100. Not long after that song started its chart-topping run.”
#5
What We Learned : The worst part of the year was him not being truly happy.
How He Said It : “It was a blue year for me,” PND explains. “I thought, ‘Write a hit, you’ll be rich and happy.’ Meet one of the most beautiful girls in the world, one of the most talented, and I’ll be happy. All of that: I’m not happy.”
#4
What We Learned : He regrets how the whole Kehlani situation went down.
How He Said It : “I regret how it went down,” he says. “Big time I regret how it went down. I look into people’s eyes, and I know they think I’m a bad guy. There’s a lot of details that people don’t know.
#3
What We Learned : Even though he would have liked, “Wednesday Night Interlude” on his album, he appreciated what Drake did with it.
How He Said It : “I said, ‘Are you gonna cut it?’ ‘No.’ He just put it on there. I don’t think people do that. I love the fact that he put it on there and people heard it.
#2
What We Learned : PartyNextDoor doesn’t really like writing for others.
How He Said It : “It doesn’t make me happy,” he says. “I’m looking for joy. It’s a moment for Rihanna and Drake. I want to invest time in creating moments for myself.”
#1
What We Learned : His mom know listens to his music.
How He Said It : “My mother didn’t listen to my first tape, or my second one,” he notes. “Now I get the texts like, ‘Jahron, this is what I was giving you $50 a month for.’ She can go back and tell her mom, ‘Look what my son made. It sounds like something we grew up to.”
