Everybody Needs To Listen To Jorja Smith “Blue Lights”

check out the post below

Thank you OVO Sound Radio Episode 16.

If it wasn’t for the radio show, I would have never heard of this artist. Well, I probably would have eventually, but not this soon. And this isn’t even the first time, I’ve been introduced to a new artist through OVO Sound Radio. Way back in October, I found out about Toronto’s very own,  R&B/Soul singer DVSN through the show. And now through the show, I’ve been introduced to Jorja Smith.

Smith is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter based out in South London. She premiered her only song to date, “Blue Lights” through Pigeons And Planes in late January. Better late than never, I guess.

Now as well as premiering the song on P&P, Smith talked to P&P about the inspiration for the song.

“The song is the beginning of my journey, and I wanted to start from home,” Jorja told P&P. “Back home in Walsall is where I started writing, and this song is influenced by what I grew up around, Smith said.”

Now, you’re probably thinking, why do I like this song? Well, its pretty obvious. Smiths vocals are incredible, she’s low-key rapping too and its fire and the production is perfect. Like this song is so good, I’m already awaiting another track.

And now you’re wondering, alright, I need to hear these vocals, the rapping and the production that I’m talking about. Well, you can stream the track below! And If you’re into R&B and Rap, you’ll love this track and singer, but if you aren’t into those genres, you still should because it’s honestly a 10/10 track.

Stream “Blue Lights” below.

Thoughts?
