Since dropping Sorry For The Wait 2 way back in late January, Lil Wayne has been featured on 4 huge albums. The general consensus in the public when it comes to Lil Wayne in 2015 is that he fell off. Everybody thinks he hasn’t dropped a solid body of work since No Ceilings in 2009. The only thing people talk about when it comes to Lil Wayne in 2015 is either his problems with Birdman or his feud with Young Thug.
The crazy thing in 2015 is that Lil Wayne has killed every feature he’s been on and Sorry For The Wait 2 was a great body of work, but everybody is just talking about his issues with Birdman and Young Thug. When it comes to the features, In February, Lil Wayne was on Used To with Drake on If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late. He killed his verse on the song. Then he was featured on the song Deep on Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise.
Lil Wayne killed his verse on this song too. Nobody said anything. Then Tyler, The Creator surprised us with Cherry Bomb and the tracklist read that Lil Wayne was featured on Smuckers. The highlight of the song is Lil Wayne and Tyler, The Creator going back and forth. Yet, nobody talked about this. Nobody gave the shine to Lil Wayne.
Now A$AP Rocky has dropped At Long Last A$AP. I don’t know about you, but Lil Wayne’s verse on M’$ is absolutely fire. If Lil Wayne wasn’t having so much issues with his album, he would have been shining off of Tha Carter V and these features, but he is having issues with the album and it hasn’t dropped yet. That Free Weezy Album hasn’t dropped yet either.
Now you might think Lil Wayne has fallen off or that Lil Wayne hasn’t dropped a solid body of work since 2009, but what you should know for certain is that Lil Wayne has been killing it in 2015 through features. You may not have liked Sorry For The Wait 2 or any other album or mixtape he’s dropped since 2009, but when it comes to the features in 2015, he’s killing it. You may not be talking about it, but it’s happening.
