I’m fed up. Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge almost scored enough goals to win us the title last year. One year later, Suarez is gone, Sturridge has been injured for months now and the final blow has been hit. Steven Gerrard is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

It was all good just a year ago. The players we got in the summer were supposed to elevate us. Mario Balotelli was just the added insurance. Liverpool now sits at 8th place in the league. Our goals (+ -) is only +1. It’s hard to see how this all happened in just a year. The Champions League was a disaster when last year it was incredible that we finally made it  back to that.

With no Steven Gerrard, Liverpool doesn’t have an identity. Liverpool began last season with Sturrige and Gerrard playing and Suarez being suspended. We ended that year almost winning with all three playing. This year we will end with Sturridge being the only player of the three still signed on to play next season. Now, i’m not saying the other players on the team aren’t amazing or that this team is done with.

It’s just hard to comprehend the decline from last year. Gerrard was always going to stop playing, but leaving and playing somewhere else now seems sad, one year after almost winning the EPL title for the first time. The reality of being a Liverpool fan right now sucks.
