check out the post below.
These will be songs Drake dropped in 2014. Trophies and We Made both came out in late 2013. Regardless of official release, they came out late 2013 december.
Song : Draft Day
Song : How Bout Now
Song : Days In The East
Song : 6 God
Song : Heat Of The Moment
Song : 0 to 100/ The Catch Up
Why Did I Rank It This Way?
Song isn’t that great, so I put it last.
How Bout Now
How about now is interesting because Drake is talking about how big he is now, but that isn’t the true meaning of the song. Drake is kind of saying, regardless of how big I am, i still love you, whoever he is talking about. Whichever girlfriend he is referring to. That comes from the sample, of course. I would have put it more ahead, but it didn’t impact me like the others did.
Days In The East
I got to school on the east end of Toronto, so this song always speaks to me on that level. So, it gets to be ahead of Draft Day and How Bout Now.
Drake’s 2014 Worst Behaviour. Drake absolutely killed this song. This a song you drop when you know you’re number 1 in the game.
Heat Of The Moment
Heat of the moment is about more than the song. Drake is telling us that he doesn’t want to think about the future, he is too worried about right now. A lot of people think this way, that the future is too much to worry about and the unknown is scary. So, we are more concerned about what’s happening in our present. This song would be #1 for me, but number one is too powerful.
0 to 100/ The Catch Up
For the first half of the song, Drake talks about how big he is. In the second half of the song, Drake talks about how he still needs to catch up to those who are ahead of him. The legends of the rap game. Drake is honestly the most honest artist out here. The fact that Drake says he still needs to catch up, thinking about all that he has already achieved. If that doesn’t motivate you, I don’t know what will.
Drake will dropping his next album in 2015 called “ Views From The 6” If you don’t what the 6 is, check out my older post, What Does Drake Mean When He Says “ Views From The 6.”
