Tyler, The Creator went on a Twitter rant tonight discussing the Ice Bucket Challenge and what’s happening in Ferguson. For those who are living under a rock, let me explain. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a social media crave that went viral. Either you put ice and cold water on your head or you donate to (ALS). Celebrities are doing the act and donating as well. Michael Brown in Ferguson was shot and killed by a Police Officer and it’s complete chaos in Ferguson since that happened. Tyler, The Creator is basically discussing how certain things become huge news and everybody looks like they care and suddenly nobody cares anymore.
Ice Bucket Challenge Rant
He is referring to what the actual challenge is. You dumping water on yourself is the action. It’s a little bit ignorant because celebrities have raised money for the cause.
This would be referring to people who aren’t celebrities. This would be people just doing it for fun and not even realizing that is for a cause.
He is realizing what he is saying might rub some people the wrong way. Though, he is basically saying that people who are doing it, don’t know the actual reason. Again, mostly pointed to those who aren’t celebrities.
He is probably referring to someone who isn’t a celebrity. That’s my honest guess on that.
He is referring to the fact that people are talking a lot about what is going on in Ferguson, but in a few weeks it won’t be news anymore. People will be discussing the new thing. Did they even find that plane?
Social Media Hype
He is saying people on Twiter have no influence and he is referring to when the girls were kidnapped. Many people even photoshopped Michelle Obama’s picture into album artwork.
What Tyler, The Creator wants to happen
He is saying that hopefully outside of Twiter, something actually changes. That whatever happens in Ferguson continues to be news and people don’t just stop talking about it. Again, did they even find that plane?
He is referring to the Ice Bucket Challenge. Hopefully people donate and take the importance in the cause instead of just doing the challenge.
