I’m from Toronto and all we had was Drake in 2011 at this point in the R&B/Rap genre. Then Abel Tesfaye came out of nowhere or what you know him as ‘The Weeknd’ came out of nowhere. Drake gave him that crucial co-sign and as much as that mattered, The Weeknd was always going to blow up. 2011 is The Weeknd’s year. 5, 10, 15 years from now you can look back and you can still say 2011 was his year. He dropped three classics, back to back to back. He took Toronto by storm and the music scene by storm. Here is my Top 10 songs from Abel so far. The pictures don’t all have to relate to the song, some do though. The Weeknd changed the game in 2011. Enjoy. This isn’t a forever list, with time passing, i’ll probably pick other songs, but this is just for now.
